A PNG doesn't add compression loss, but it can't bring back detail that a lossy format such as JPG or WebP already removed. Expect PNG files to be larger. Smaller image files can help pages load faster. Google's tests found lossy WebP files 25–34% smaller than comparable JPEGs, and AVIF files can be smaller than JPEG at similar quality, depending on the image. Your results will vary.
Pixformat doesn't read HEIC, AVIF, TIFF, ICO, PDF or video files, so it skips them when you add them. It also can't resize images or let you choose the compression quality.
